Satisfactory, often likened to games like Factorio and Dyson Sphere Program, is an immersive first-person, open-world game where players must automate their base to facilitate the production of various resources. As players, you are not only charged with the task of constructing factories but also exploring vast territories and battling the local fauna.
Upon landing on the planet, you’ll embark on your first tasks. One key strategy is to use the transport hub to send resources back in the capsule. This action leads to the development of your base and unlocks new mechanisms and devices for automation.
To start, it’s advisable to have a modest stock of fossils and automate your initial structures to gather the necessary resources for base development. The HUB is a crucial element that you should focus on enhancing quickly as it opens up more opportunities for plant expansion.
The core of Satisfactory lies in the automation of production, which is achieved by connecting buildings correctly. This proper alignment allows optimal resource extraction without any delays or downtime.
For instance, let’s look at the process of producing iron plates:
For a simplified calculation of required buildings for resource production, consider using a production calculator.
Satisfactory offers five types of generators, each responsible for generating energy: the biomass burner, coal generator, fuel generator, geothermal generator, and nuclear power plant. Most generators can be overclocked using energy modules obtained from energy slugs.
Biomass burners, accessible at level 0 after studying the HUB 6 upgrade, use organic matter as fuel and generate 30 MW of electricity. The coal generator, accessed at level 3 after researching coal energy, uses coal and water to generate 75 MW.
The fuel generator, unlocked at level 6, uses liquid fuels and generates 150 MW. The geothermal generator uses geysers’ heat, doesn’t use additional fuel, and generates 200 MW. Lastly, the nuclear power plant, accessible at level 7, uses nuclear fuel rods and water to generate a whopping 2500 MW.
Each generator has specific requirements for creation, which you will fulfill as you progress in the game.
