1) New Zones and Weather Hazards
The update introduces a huge new zone that is split into two unique areas twisted by cruel science. In addition, Vardoran undergoes a complete overhaul, including a new vineyard in Silverlight, a redesigned Cursed Forest, and several new points of interest in the Dunley Farmlands.
Apart from the scorching sun, vampires now also have to beware of new weather hazards in V Rising, such as the “choking mist of the Cursed Forest” and “deadly lightning strikes in the hills of Gloomrot”.
2) Trading Hubs and Multi-Story Castles
The update also introduces brand new trading hubs where players can exchange silver coins for goods with new NPC merchants – some of whom are not exactly friendly to vampires. Additionally, players can now build multi-story castles. The update introduces a new verticality to vampire hideouts, allowing players to construct castles up to three stories high. They can also create sprawling gardens or balconies as entrance and exit points as they ascend to the skies.
3) The New Zone: Gloomrot
Gloomrot is described as a place of dirt, ambition, brilliance, and madness. This new biome will be almost as big as the Dunley Farmlands and is divided into two areas: Gloomrot South and Gloomrot North. Each area brings new challenges, technologies, and enemies, both big and small, with plenty of space to build multi-story fortresses. Additionally, 30 new enemy types and 13 new V-blood carriers await you.
4) Castle Teleporters and Organized Outdoor Areas
The update also introduces castle teleporters that make it easier for players to navigate the castles. These paired teleporters allow players to instantly teleport from one location to another. However, the castle loses its functionality during a siege, so players should not rely on teleporters during such times.
Additionally, the update introduces a variety of structures to create organized outdoor areas, allowing players to conquer entire areas. The update also includes quality of life improvements with modular building design, a streamlined user interface, and more color variations.
5) Changes to Spell Schools and Territory Conquest
The Gloomrot update introduces a new sixth spell school and revamps the five existing main spell schools. Players can expect significant changes to each spell, with new abilities being added and others being redesigned and moved into other categories where they now fit better. The modifications available on each found jewel will be random, and each spell has many different game-changing options that can manifest in these magical treasures.
Blood magic has been revamped to become the center of vampire healing, while Unholy magic emphasizes its summoning nature. Frost magic has also undergone significant changes, with the cold debuff no longer immediately freezing.
A new experimental feature called “Territories” will also allow vampires to claim individual plots of land instead of placing a castle heart and expanding individual tiles.
