Minecraft 1.20 Biomes and Blocks

Cherry Blossom Biome

The new Cherry Blossom biome makes the world of Minecraft even more colourful. With the pink leaves of the Cherry Blossom Trees, fans of the Japanese spring festival in particular will get their money’s worth. But also for everyone else, this biome definitive offers a great environment to build your own base. No special mobs have been announced for this biome, but you can expect the usual forest dwellers such as rabbits, bees and creepers.

Cherry Wood

The new Cherry Blossom Trees can of course be used as crafting material and thus give us a new wood class. The light pink Cherry Blossom Tree wood can be used in Minecraft 1.20 to make houses, doors, signs and all the usual wooden constructions. Especially the branched structure and the dense foliage of the trees invites to build hidden tree houses.

Bamboo

With Bamboo blocks we get a new, versatile type of wood. While we can make most common wooden constructions with bamboo blocks, we also have the possibility to make the unique and beautiful bamboo mosaic blocks. Bamboo can also be used to build boats that look more like rafts than the usual wooden boats.

Minecraft 1.20 Camel

Camel

Exciting news for desert adventurers! Get ready to welcome camels to Minecraft 1.20, adding a touch of desert charm to your gameplay. These majestic creatures will naturally appear in desert biomes, making them a unique sight to behold. Standing as one of the largest mobs in the game, camels offer a fantastic advantage—while riding them at nighttime, you’ll be safe from the clutches of hostile mobs. Plus, once tamed, two players can embark on a camel-riding adventure together!

Do keep in mind that camels, while slower than horses in complex terrains, excel in covering vast, flat areas with their dash ability. This impressive skill even enables them to leap over ravines with ease! And here’s a fun fact: by feeding them cactus in desert biomes, you can breed adorable baby camels. With the right setup, camels might just become a common mob breeding farm in your game. So saddle up and prepare for an unforgettable camel-filled experience in Minecraft!

Minecraft 1.20 Sniffer

Sniffer

The Sniffer is the big winner of the Minecraft Mob Vote 2022. If you’ve already forgotten which candidates were still up for election, then take a quick look at our article on this. We are really looking forward to finally meeting this furry friend.

What’s even more exciting is that Sniffer comes with a delightful addition—a baby version that can be hatched from Sniffer eggs. This opens up a world of possibilities for breeding among players.

In terms of gameplay, Sniffer has a unique role. It has the remarkable ability to sniff out seeds for new and exclusive plants in the vast overworld. Just imagine the countless opportunities for creating innovative Minecraft farms that this new mob will bring! We can’t wait to witness the creativity of the community unfold.

But that’s not all! Contrary to early expectations, this magnificent six-legged mob surpasses the player in size and boasts intricate textures. While you won’t be able to ride Sniffer due to its proportions, fear not! The new ride command in Minecraft 1.20 offers a clever workaround for experiencing the joy of riding Sniffer.

Aside from its appearance, Sniffer exhibits some fascinating behaviors. It can be seen resting on the ground, much like the new camel mob. When it’s not taking a break, it roams about aimlessly. With its deliberate and slow movements, you may notice its nostrils gently bouncing as it sniffs around for the recently introduced seeds—Torchflower and Pitcher Plant. Witnessing Sniffer in action only solidifies the community’s wise choice in the latest mob vote.

But fret not for the mobs that didn’t win this time. During the Minecraft Live 2022 event, the developers reassured players that mobs from previous announcements and other Minecraft titles still have a chance to make their way into the game at a later date. Of course, this will depend on how well they align with the company’s future plans for Minecraft. I hope we can meet the belove Rascal soon!

Minecraft 1.20 Features

Archeology

The long-awaited archaeology features are finally making their way into the game, bringing a whole new layer of exploration and discovery. Get ready to embark on thrilling quests as you search for suspicious sand and gravel blocks scattered throughout your world. These intriguing blocks hold a secret—when carefully dusted off, they unveil precious pottery sherds (formerly known as pottery shards) that can be combined to create ancient decorated pots within Minecraft.

Although you can’t bake these decorated pots just yet, each one boasts a unique design inspired by elements from the vast Minecraft world. To assist you in your archaeological endeavors, a brand-new tool called the “brush” has been introduced, adding a touch of authenticity to the dusting process. Currently, there are a total of 20 captivating pot designs to uncover, each of them showcasing their own cool and distinct aesthetics. It’s worth noting that we initially started with only four designs, but more have been thoughtfully added to the game.

Armor Trims

The days of sporting plain-looking armor are finally coming to an end in Minecraft 1.20! Get ready to dive into a world of armor customization like never before. Each piece of armor now offers a staggering selection of 11 pattern designs, available in a stunning range of 10 vibrant colors. With the multitude of armor types at your disposal and the ability to mix and match items, you’ll have an abundance of options to create dozens of unique and stylish armor combinations.

This groundbreaking armor customization feature has been made possible through the introduction of an item called ‘armor trim.’ You’ll be thrilled to discover that variations of this item can be found in almost every major structure scattered throughout the Minecraft 1.20 world. Keep your eyes peeled, as these valuable trims are the key to unlocking the full potential of your armor customization experience.

Once you’ve obtained the desired trim, it’s time to combine it with your armor of choice using the intuitive new Smithing table UI. The result? Jaw-dropping custom designs that will leave your friends in awe. It’s important to note, though, that the purpose of armor trimming is purely aesthetic. So, while decking out your armor with gold trim won’t necessarily make it Piglin-friendly, it will undoubtedly make a striking statement. Just imagine the possibilities! Unleash your creativity and be prepared to stand out from the crowd, especially in the world of PvP Minecraft servers, where uniquely designed armor can make for fantastic team uniforms.

It’s time to express your individuality, add a touch of personal flair to your armor, and showcase your style like never before. Minecraft 1.20 is about to take your Minecraft fashion game to new heights. So, grab your tools, embark on an epic quest for armor trim, and let your imagination run wild. Your one-of-a-kind armor awaits!

Banner Shields

Minecraft 1.20 has yet another fantastic addition that players have been eagerly requesting—the ability to apply banners to shields!

To customize your shield with a banner, simply craft a colorful banner using the trusty loom. Once you have your banner ready, head over to the Crafting Table and combine it with your shield. Voila! You’ve successfully put a banner on your shield, adding even more personality and flair to your in-game persona. It’s a small detail, but it makes a world of difference in making your character truly unique.

Now, not only can you personalize your armor with stylish trims, but you can also take your shield game to a whole new level by adorning it with eye-catching banners. It’s all about expressing your individuality and making your mark on the Minecraft world.

So, gather your materials, fire up your imagination, and prepare to showcase your creativity with beautifully customized shields. Minecraft 1.20 is about to elevate your in-game persona to new heights, and we can’t wait to see the incredible designs you come up with!

Hang Signs

Prepare to have your sign-placement woes solved, my fellow Minecraft enthusiasts! The ingenious solution has arrived: hanging signs! Say goodbye to the frustration of not finding the perfect spot, because these signs can be hung on any block—yes, any block! Not only can you place them on the sides of blocks, but you can even hang them upside down on the bottom. No more signs cluttering up the ground, folks!

But that’s not all the excitement Minecraft 1.20 has in store for you. Prepare for sign-editing brilliance! Say farewell to the days of destroying a sign and starting from scratch just to change the text. Now, you can simply edit and rewrite the text on the sign itself. No more sign casualties! Plus, here’s a neat trick—get creative and add different text to both sides of the sign. It’s like having double the sign goodness in one handy package.

So, my friends, get ready to elevate your sign game to unprecedented heights. Embrace the freedom of hanging signs, create stunning decorative structures, and edit your signs with ease. Minecraft 1.20 is here to revolutionize the way you express yourself in the blocky world. Let your signs do the talking and unleash your witty charm upon the land!

New Mob Heads

Listen up, fellow Minecraft mob hunters! We’ve all collected those coveted mob heads from fallen foes, only to use them as mere masks or decorative items. But hold onto your swords, because Minecraft 1.20 is about to give those mob heads a new purpose, a purpose worthy of our battle-hardened skills!

Now, we have the power to connect these precious mob heads with Note blocks, igniting an ambient symphony of mob sounds. Each head represents a specific mob, and when paired with a Note block, it emits a sound that echoes the essence of that very creature. Picture this: a skeleton skull triggering the unmistakable sound of an arrow being fired, adding a thrilling touch of realism to our builds.

But that’s not all, my fellow adventurers. Minecraft 1.20 has heard our battle cries and is expanding the library of mob heads. Brace yourselves for the arrival of Piglin heads! To claim one of these coveted trophies, we must venture into the treacherous depths of the Nether. There, we shall face the fearsome Piglin and dispatch it with the explosive might of a charged creeper. As a reward for our bravery, we shall obtain a Piglin head—a true testament to our conquest. When activated by a Redstone signal, this majestic head not only emits the distinct sounds of the Piglin but even waggles its ears in response.

So, my fellow monster hunters, sharpen your swords, ready your bows, and embark on a quest to gather the finest mob heads. Let your creations come alive with the ambient sounds of the fallen, and proudly display your trophies as a testament to your bravery. Minecraft 1.20 beckons us to immerse ourselves in a world where the clash of weapons and the cries of the conquered harmonize. Embrace the thrill, unleash your creativity, and let the mob heads sing their haunting melodies as we conquer the blocky realms!

Sculk Sensor

The brand-new addition known as the Calibrated Sculk Sensor. Prepare to be amazed! This remarkable Redstone component allows you to filter vibrations based on their frequency level, unlocking a whole new realm of possibilities. It’s all about harnessing the power of sound in Minecraft!

Keep in mind that Calibrated Sculk Sensors are not naturally found in the Minecraft world. But fear not, for you have the power to create them! Craft these incredible sensors by combining Sculk sensors with precious Amethyst shards, forging a powerful tool that will revolutionize your Redstone contraptions.
